Response to Janeen's privilege essay

In the essay Janeen talks about a coke commercial which demonstrates the ethnic diversity or the united states. she talks about how despite it wanting to give a positive message, it started the flow of very negative comments. people made comments about how america the beautiful should only be sung in English and bashed the idea of other culture celebrating america and the second chance many people have gotten from coming here. Janeen's whole point in her essay is that maybe we haven't progresses quite as much as a nation as we have thought.

Personality Case Study

I am already used to the set up of an assignment like this due to having similar one s last semester. I like the layout of it because it is very simple and will allow me to focus more on the study that what needs to go where and having the perfect essay format. the concept is also very interesting, i like the idea of comparing myself to my siblings and comparing how different we all really are. this assignment inst only showing us a more valid form of writing, but its letting us really think about how we live our lives. it should be fun! :)

Personality: Videos/ Blog reading

All of the videos/ blog post had to do with personality, and things that affect how you interact and how confident you are. the first video talked about how your confidence is based on your body language and if you force your self to use open body language you can become more confident. the second video talked about how siblings affect ones personality. they are affected by if the parents pick favorites and how the parents treat different  children.the blog is just stating facts about 2 opposite personality types, in hopes that one will then understand the other better. all of these posts basically told me that ones personality is based on the different experiences in that persons life. Every person reacts a different way in a situation but the way they react is also based on they're experience during that day or from past experiences.  so in a way your personality is not set but at the same time it is set (if that makes any sense to anyone else) personally my personality has changed tremendously through out my life, though i am still quiet now, I know how to act confident and depending on the situation can actually feel confident and outgoing on many different occasions, and have many friends now. where, when i was in high school and junior high, I was completely anti social and had basically no friends. But, basically ones personality is a very difficult thing to understand, because each person reacts differently to certain things which may or may not affect their personality.

My name is Alicia, and i am shy, unique, but can be a bit bold. because of this i usually don't socialize too much in a classroom setting, which can usually affect my grades because I'm not really participating. but when I'm around someone i know in a classroom i may be a bit more confident, bringing out the "bold" side of me, making my education a much more pleasant experience. the unique side of me doesn't really come out too much in class because i don't really talk about my interests too much unless i know someone else likes them or they can help me add something to the class. i think that about covers it.
